I code it by hand. I use the superscript tag <sup> to superscript the numbers. Then I make the footnotes at the bottom into a smaller font by using <span style="font-size:85%">. There may be a quicker/easier way to do it, but I haven't been able to find one, so this is what works for me!

Hi Beth,

How do you do the really cute footnote effect? I'm new to WordPress (I just moved from Blogger about a month ago now), and have loved it when you do it. Any advice would be much appreciated.
